Finally i am back home again, after 12 solid hours of guard duty.
Its great to be back to Singapore back to my very own room and have a good rest before continuing the rest of the busy day!
The entire guard duty is quite a interesting one, i will just start with the important part..
This is the very first time i took bus to tekong, all the way from my home. Usually book-in or book-out all settle using cab, coz got friends to share cab so in a way cheaper and much more faster then a bus. So i took bus 269 to amk central then take 88 all the way to Pasir Ris, the journey to Pasir Ris is a long and tiring but luckily i brought my zen vision along with me, loads of entertainment without the load.
Played a lot of songs, R & B, Punk Rock and so on....Then reached liao, i took bus 89 to the ferry terminal. Tink because i nv take before or wad i took the wrong direction, then fuck go back sengkang then i took a cab there but go there only $5. What a waste of 5 bucks damn! Ok then i reached the damn far place, walk pass the sentry guard, then they ask "where you from?" I say from whiskey, but i oredi POP only come back for guard duty...Haha feels good being a private at that moment. Then i saw my sub siting at the bench there eat mee goreng, nv bring anything at all, seems to be enjoying his food. It is good being a sub coz when the main guard arrive safetly at the terminal and they can fuck off that place liao. So we were all talking cock while waiting for our fast craft, saw hiran my section buddy then tok about happenings, games etc. Everyone look the same just that their hair grow longer coz private liao mah no need go cut waste $. Wait until 2:30 then we board the fast craft and head towards tekong, waste out time sergeant say be there at 1:30 then waited 1 hour there..
Reached tekong finally, then we march back our company line - Whiskey. Every platoon got ard 6 guards so total ard 25 ppl there for the 14 Sep guard duty (12 hour). We reached company line this time as a private not a chao recruit anymore, everyone is smiling happily like all lao jiao oredi (veteran or old bird). Once there, we see boxes around outside the company office, seems to be some stuff for the new batch of whiskey warriors. Sergeant Daniel appear from platoon 2 office he look sleepy coz just woke up then told us to go back our bunk to leave our belongings there and also to rest there till further instructions. Then we stay in bunk slack and also to eat some of the snacks that we bought. Then after ard 30 mins we go down collect SBO then go back again and we all took a nap. Pack all the snack into our SBO, rdy for guard duty later in the evening. Everyone bought a lot of snacks, except for one of our section mate, go there empty handed somemore dun even bother to bring a bag. But who cares, since the snack we got there is enough for a 24 hour shift guard duty.
All the while we have been walking up and down the stairs when we are still a recruit now private liao we took the lift up to the second storey finally after 9 weeks of shit we can take the damn lift, feels great somehow. The whole company seems deserted, the new batch will commence training probably next week, good luck to them. Then at 4;30 we are asked to fall in and go for early dinner, it is like wtf so early eat dinner we just had some light snacks up in the bunk then dinner how? No choice we still got to go there, when we reached there only workers are present at the canteen. For the first time no one will fight with us for FOOD haha. We got all the time in the world to eat our food slowly tok cock...The lunch was good food - fish and chip + butter rice. Then today think because we are early for the dinner then the aunty gave us extra large portion of everything, rice, fish, fries, and beans. Then the aunty still ask us enough or not??? all those who say not enough must be straving for days or something. Then aunty also gave us extra fruits, and for the first time aunty say she treat us coz we go back and see her, by right we guard duty no choice. Then eat lor but cannot finish the food, simply too much for early dinner, more like tea time.
Later we when back company line to draw our rifle - M16, collect F.A.D and rifle sling. And also take our SBO ready to go. The guard commander come take us to the parade square to do the drill to salute and SIR there and also to make us as guard like going through some ceromony. Then got a lot of funny and weird things we need to do to be guards. Everyone look like quite stun when the DOS say all the commands, then he still ask us from where say wan to complain to our sergeant major coz all do the drill too fuck up. And he also warn us if u all dun do properly tomolo come back for another guard duty, Upon hearing that, we all scare liao then do properly after that lolx. Then see some sergeant diam us, as part of the ceromony he ber-her-di until very funny haha. Like some robot, then he like a bit tense, and one of the COS also forgot some of the commands.
Our guard duty starts from 8pm to 10pm and 2am - 4am, we are detail 2, each detail got 6 person - 4 prowlers and 2 sentry. Then we need to put on the camp guard badge on our right shoulder quite cool. Then after that we are brief on what to do and we also receive our rules of engagement card. It states, we are able to use violent force on anyone that tries to harm us anyway. Then need to protect blah blah blah... and when engage must say HALT!, HALT! HALT OR I WILL SHOOT!...
