Book Out Day Again, WooHOO!
Really great great great to be back my home again, lots of happenings once again this very week in SISPEC - With Pride We Lead. The slogan that we have been emphasizing and emphasizing again.
I will begin by the first second week first day, on monday was my signal practical and theory test. Where i need to know is how to communicate throught the damn radio, there are voice procedures and so on, many things to remember that's all. I got the result like let's say on tuesday which is the following day, and i score 94/100, that is quite high for me i think and the highest in our company was like 96. As for the practical test, we need to set-up the radio which is a PRC-840 set, it is one of the latest set recently. We got around 5 mins to set up everything and do all the settings as stated on our test papers. I assemsble everything like in less then 2 mins and good to go. However it is quite bulky and heavy, will be quite tiring when carrying it for navigational exercises in the upcoming weeks. Call NAVEX or something like that, i know it is going to be fun but at the same time challenging. Then for the theory test easy lah, the signal specialists which is also our invigilator got help us with some of the questions by standing at the back of the whole platoon under the parade square shelther.
The whole signal test is like purposely made for us to pass for sure lolx judging from the way...
Day 2 - Tuesday, which is the official Change of Command parade. In the morning like around 7, we have been rehearsing for like 3 hours, march in then march out follow by all the drills with our beloved SAR-21, going to kanna SARS like anything soon. The school Sergeant Major is demanding alot from us, abit of mistake we re-do everything again, so we on that day re-do like around 5-6 times until we also sian.
Day 3 - Wednesday, was quite tiring when we have to do a lot of physical exercises and also our SOC lesson1, SOC stands for Standard Obstacle Course, but at night after 1730 we got our first ever nights-out, which means that we can change to our CV attire and roam around outside of camp, you can go anywhere you like, then some ppl go home, some go shop around and some stay around at Jurong Point as it is the nearest shopping centre to Pasir Laba Camp. It is like a 10 mins bus ride from our camp to the boon lay bus and mrt interchange. Our mood and morale is all-time high coz it is our first =p. Though before that we have our SOC training and quite tiring, we can get out of our camp oredi ver good liao so we even we are tired we still wan to go out. Then i meet my section mates and we go to Jurong Point to play some LAN instead of pool, coz they say so and the majority wins. We played for about 1h30 mins that we go settle our dinner at Fish & Co, i ordered the usual New York Fish and Chip, one of my favourite!
Day 4 and 5 - Thursday & Friday, On thursday we got our M203 technical handling test, we need to do four parts, knowledge, stripping & assembling in 8 seconds and 6 seconds respectively, correct aiming and all the IA procedures. These parts last for the whole morning till lunch then after that we got our TSR Theory test, some safety test that we future to be leaders need to know at out fingertips, i score one of the highest liao in our coy which is 98/100, and the highest in our coy is 98!. I am proud of myself =p , as not many ppl got that score like only around 10 ppl our of 160 got that.
Day 6 - Saturday which is today, parent visiting day! We do area and bunk cleaning like for the whole of the morning just to make everything loo neat, clean and tidy for our friends and parents that are coming to see how great SISPEC is. I went down to do my rear company cleaning for like half and hour, i am in charge of the rear wahing point together with 3 other friends so we begin scrubbing and spraying water to the ground to make it sparkling clean. Then after that got stand-by bed, which is to get into our smart4 and then stand beside your bed, cupboard open and everything in the correct way as it is meant to be. We spend alot of time of remove the kiwi stains, windows dirt and some filth on the ceiling fans. Everyone is busily doing their so call area cleaning and no one is sleeping or somehow slacking. Then my brother and sister and father come to the camp for the visiting. Glad that so many ppl come, because most or to say a handful of some ppl their parents nv come at home, not even friends then they just slack around in bunk. We tour around the various landmarks and destination in the camp, walk around taking photos until our digi cam run out of battery. So fast drain liao coz my sister is playing with the cam before coming. Haiz but nvm we took quite a lot of nice pics also.
